Job Description:
Axiom Advisors, a leading California lobbying firm based in Sacramento, is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Legislative Assistant to be responsible for providing administrative and advocacy support to senior lobbyists.
Duties may include but are not limited to:
Tracking and calendaring legislative and regulatory hearings.
Providing detailed summaries to the firm and clients of in-person and virtual hearings.
Attending legislative hearings, committee meetings, and other public events on behalf of the firm’s clients.
Preparing policy briefs, as well as Legislative and budget updates for clients.
Formatting, sending, and delivering client position letters and floor alerts.
Coordinating and scheduling meetings between lead lobbyists, clients, legislators, and regulatory agencies.
Maintaining email distribution lists and rosters and sending meeting notices and updates.
Providing administrative support to senior lobbyists and partners, including scheduling, correspondence, and document management.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Public Policy, Law, or a related field is preferred.
· Strong understanding of California’s legislative process and regulatory environment.
· Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills.
· Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively.
· Demonstrated interest in public policy and advocacy.
