Role Description

This is a contract role for a Legal Trainee, located on-site in Karen, Nairobi County, Kenya. The Legal Trainee will be responsible for assisting with legal document preparation, providing legal consulting services, addressing various legal issues, and maintaining clear communication channels with stakeholders. Day-to-day tasks will include conducting legal research, drafting legal documents, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. We are looking for a committed and detail-oriented Legal Trainee to join our legal department on a structured 6-month training program. This is a hands-on opportunity for recent law graduates or candidates awaiting admission to the bar to gain practical experience in a dynamic corporate environment.

The role is strictly training-focused, with clear exposure to legal research, document drafting, contract management, and day-to-day operations within an in-house legal function.

Qualifications

Law and Legal Issues skills

Legal Consulting and Legal Document Preparation skills

Excellent Communication skills

Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team

Bachelor’s degree in Law or related field

Prior experience in the legal field is a plus
