Job Description:

  • Business & Functional Guidance on Legal Workflows as per the client’s interaction
  • Help LatentBridge (LB) understand the current legal operations and workflows – including pain points, manual interventions, and compliance bottlenecks.
  • Share industry best practices, key considerations and recommend the legal workflows as per the client’s pain points.
  • Advise & guide LB on “To-be” state for the Tech team to develop the solution to achieve operational efficiency.

 

  • Validate the proposed Tech Solution covering
  • Client’s scope and problem statement
  • Business & Legal aspects
  • Suggest improvements (if any) and future ready

 

  • Guide & lead on behalf of LB on Legal discussions and client’s workshop (on need basis)
  • Help in articulating how the solution would be differentiator and cost effective for the client.

RequirementsPrimary Responsibilities

  • Act as the Legal Subject Matter Expert for BFSI transformation, regulatory, and technology initiatives.
  • Provide legal and regulatory guidance on banking, capital markets, asset management, payments, insurance, and financial services projects.
  • Interpret and translate legal and regulatory requirements into clear business and functional requirements.
  • Partner with business stakeholders, compliance, risk, technology, and operations teams to ensure regulatory compliance across initiatives.
  • Review and validate business requirements, functional specifications, process documentation, and solution designs from a legal and regulatory perspective.
  • Support regulatory change initiatives driven by FCA, PRA, Bank of England, GDPR, MiFID II, EMIR, DORA, Consumer Duty, SMCR, Basel regulations, and other UK/EU financial regulations.
  • Perform legal impact assessments for new products, services, and technology implementations.
  • Identify legal and compliance risks and recommend practical mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with project managers, business analysts, architects, and development teams throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Review contractual obligations, third-party agreements, outsourcing arrangements, and vendor compliance where required.
  • Participate in governance meetings and provide legal guidance during steering committees and stakeholder discussions.
  • Support UAT by validating regulatory and legal scenarios.
  • Maintain legal documentation, regulatory mappings, and decision logs.
  • Provide legal advisory support during audits, regulatory reviews, and internal compliance assessments.

  • Experience in regulatory transformation or change programmes
  • Ability to simplify complex legal concepts for business and technology teams
  • Experience reviewing business requirements and solution documentation

Preferred Experience

  • 10+ years of legal experience within BFSI
  • Experience in a top-tier law firm or in-house legal team within a financial institution
  • Experience supporting digital transformation or regulatory change programmes
  • Knowledge of AI, cloud, data privacy, outsourcing, and technology contracts within financial services
  • Experience working in Agile and Waterfall environments
  • Familiarity with tools such as Jira, Confluence, SharePoint, and Microsoft 365
