Title: Legal Secretary/Executive Assistant
Company: Commercial & Legal (Legal Services)
Location: Adelaide, South Australia, Australia
About Us
Commercial & Legal is a cutting-edge boutique law firm located in the Adelaide CBD. Our award-winning legal team are experts in all areas of projects & property law and conveyancing, servicing clients across Australia.
Role Description
This isn’t your typical admin role.
We’re looking for someone sharp, loyal, emotionally intelligent, and calm under pressure — someone who brings clarity and structure to the day and thrives on being a step ahead.
You’ll work directly with the Managing Partner of a dynamic law firm with deep roots in property, construction, and commercial law. Your role is to be the filter between him and the noise — the person who ensures his day flows, deadlines are met, communication is clear, and the right things get the right attention at the right time.
Key Responsibilities
Executive Support
Proactive management of a high-volume inbox, prioritising and filtering what needs attention
Calendar, travel, and meeting coordination – keeping the day (and week) running smoothly
Drafting professional correspondence, reports, agendas, and client communications
Acting as a gatekeeper, ensuring the Partner can focus on what matters most
Â
Legal Secretary Support
Assisting with the management of major client files and document preparation
File opening, billing, and end-to-end file administration
Accurate and confidential handling of sensitive information
Working with LEAP or similar practice management systems
Â
Workflow & Business Operations
Helping coordinate work across the broader team — ensuring clarity, accountability, and follow-through
Liaising with clients and key stakeholders with professionalism and warmth
Bringing a process mindset to the role — spotting inefficiencies and helping the team work smarter
Supporting projects and operations with an eye for detail and consistency
Â
Prerequisite Experience
Substantial tenure in a mid-tier or higher law firm
Business administration or legal qualifications (desirable)
Ideal Candidate Attributes
You’ve worked closely with a business owner or senior executive before
You’re experienced in a legal, property, or construction-related environment
You love organising chaos into order, and you anticipate needs before they arise
You’re confident with tech, quick with new systems, and fluent in Outlook, Word and Excel
You care about doing good work, supporting people you respect, and being part of a stable, high-performing team
Professional Development
We offer a meaningful role where you’ll be trusted, valued, and relied upon in a supportive team with leadership who care about the details as much as the big picture. This is a long-term opportunity where your impact will be visible and appreciated and you will be supported to grow with a firm that’s steadily expanding.
