Our client, a well-established law firm in Bellville, is seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Legal Secretary to join their dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual passionate about the legal field and eager to support attorneys in their day-to-day operations.
Key Responsibilities
Document Preparation: Prepare, edit, proofread, and file legal documents, correspondence, and pleadings with a high level of accuracy.
Case Management: Assist attorneys with case preparation and management, ensuring all necessary documentation is filed timely and efficiently.
Client Interaction: Serve as a point of contact for clients, providing updated information regarding case progress and handling client queries professionally.
Calendar Management: Maintain and manage attorneys’ calendars, scheduling appointments, meetings, and court appearances.
Billing and Invoicing: Assist with tracking billable hours and preparing invoices for clients.
Research Support: Conduct preliminary legal research and gather relevant information for attorneys when needed.
Maintain Confidentiality: Uphold the highest level of confidentiality regarding sensitive information.
Requirements
Requirements:
Educational Qualification: A relevant qualification in Legal Studies or Administrative Support is preferred.
Experience: Proven experience as a Legal Secretary or in a similar administrative role within a law firm is highly advantageous.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
Technical Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and legal management software.
Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail is crucial for preparing and reviewing legal documents.
Organisational Skills: Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
