About the Role

EQUES® Law Group is seeking a Real Estate and Estate Planning Paralegal focused on coordinating and collaborating with team members, communicating with clients, document drafting and processing, and case managing attorneys.

Key Responsibilities

Office/Case Management

Manage operations for a rapidly growing local law office that is a part of a more extensive firm network.
Maintain positive and efficient client communications and deliverables.
Oversee transactional workflows and overcome challenges to keep matters moving.
Coordinate and direct attorneys and remote team members to provide the best services.

Real Estate Transactions:

Serve as initial/primary point of contact for communications with abstractors, agents, lenders, unrepresented buyers/sellers, and county offices
Initiate new matters, order title searches, draft deeds and legal documents, and communicate with wire transfer processors.
Review and understand real estate contracts, deeds, closing documents, and title reports.
Input, manage, and track deadlines for real estate transactions
Assist with residential and commercial real estate closings, ensuring all files are in order.
Interface with county offices for recording (including e-recording)
Communicate with abstractors, agents, lenders, unrepresented buyers/sellers, and other parties in real estate transactions as tasked by the Title Agent/Paralegal or Attorney.
Track funds and make distributions.
Occasionally perform closings.
Timely completion of tasks to ensure matters are moving forward and staying on track

Estate Planning:

Coordinate with clients, accountants/financial advisors, and other professionals to gather necessary information and schedule appointments.
Assist with trust administration, including asset transfers and beneficiary distributions.
Work with attorneys to maintain an accurate and efficient workflow drafting, revising, and preparing estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and healthcare directives.
Maintain and update estate planning files and client records.
Conduct legal research related to estate planning matters.

Qualifications

Paralegal certification is preferred but not required.
Notary preferred, but not required to apply (must have the ability to obtain).
Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines with minimal supervision.
High attention to detail and organizational skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and customer service acumen.
Proficiency in legal research tools and document management software.
Knowledge of basic probate procedures is a plus.
Familiarity with Qualia, Clio, Quickbooks, RingCentral, and Mac (Apple) Computers are a plus.
