Job Description: The Tax Professional is responsible for providing expert tax services and advice to individuals, businesses, and colleagues, ensuring compliance with tax regulations. They will represent clients during IRS interactions and play a crucial role in helping clients navigate complex tax matters. This role requires a deep understanding of tax laws, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills to provide clients with reliable tax services.

Essential Job Functions:

Act as the primary point of contact between clients and the IRS during audits, appeals, and other tax-related matters
Advocate for clients’ rights and interests before the IRS to achieve fair and favorable resolutions
Conduct in-depth tax analysis and financial assessments to develop tax planning strategies for clients
Prepare and file accurate tax returns for individuals, businesses, and other entities
Provide proactive advice on tax-saving opportunities and potential tax implications of financial decisions
Review financial documents and information to ensure compliance with tax laws
Prepare and submit necessary documentation and responses to the IRS on behalf of clients
Handle multiple clients and meet deadlines efficiently
Maintain organized and accurate records of clients’ financial information and tax-related documents
Use appropriate tax software and tools to facilitate efficient tax preparation and record-keeping
Develop a strong command of our CRM systems Velocify, Pitbull Tax, and our tax system Drake Software
Address client escalations and concerns promptly and professionally
Be effective and provide excellent customer service when speaking with clients
Maintain confidentiality of client information, and handle sensitive information with the utmost security
Stay up-to-date with the latest changes in tax laws, regulations, and IRS procedures
Actively mentor and participate in the development of case managers
Lead and assist with bookkeeping efforts
Assist with Quickbooks setup for new clients and train colleagues on this process
Ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with accounting standards
Identify opportunities to streamline and improve financial processes.
Implement best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Enrolled Agent (EA) certification from the IRS, Tax Attorney designation, or a related professional tax qualification.
Previous experience in tax preparation, tax planning, and representation
In-depth understanding of federal and state tax laws, regulations, and IRS procedures
Ability to interpret complex tax codes and apply them to various financial situations
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Great organizational and time management skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
Excellent attention to detail
Proficiency in QuickBooks
