The Faculty Administrative Assistant provides a high standard of administrative and clerical support to assigned faculty at the School of Law to ensure efficient office operations in a professional environment. Accuracy, attention to detail, and excellent interpersonal skills are essential.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assists faculty with portfolios, correspondence, course-related helps such as classroom photo charts, and other projects as requested;
Prepares travel proposals and arranges travel for faculty, student teams, and guests;
Submits requisitions and monthly expense reports;
Utilizes 25Live to reserve rooms for makeup classes, team practices, and workshops;
Reviews and uploads letters of recommendation from faculty;
Assists students with Law Skills assignment submissions, collecting and returning graded assignments, and reviewing graded exams;
Creates grade forms in Excel for registrar and faculty use;
Maintains files of assignments and final exams;
Proofreads and prints exams;
Engages internal and external audiences via telephone and email
QUALIFICATIONS AND CREDENTIALS
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
Demonstrated ability to perform a variety of tasks in a fast paced, professional office environment
Experience in higher education as an administrative assistant preferred
Experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously of a routine and complex nature.

Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing to convey clear, well-articulated information.
Ability to understand, speak, and write English in order to convey messages and correspond in an articulate and professional manner.
Possess public communication skills that allow professional representation of Liberty University to a variety of business and community customers and associates.

Excellent computer skills.

Intuitively able to reason, analyze information and events, and apply judgment in order to solve problems of both a routine and complex nature.
Physical and Sensory Abilities
Occasionally required to travel to local and campus locations.
Frequently required to sit for extended periods to perform deskwork or type on a keyboard.
Regularly required to hear and speak in order to effectively communicate orally.
Occasionally required to stand, walk, and climb stairs to move about the building.
Regularly lift 25 or fewer pounds.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Work Environment
The working environment in which one will typically perform the essential functions of this position is a climate-controlled office setting. It is well lighted and the noise level is moderate.
Driving Requirements
Use of one’s personal vehicle (or LU vehicles) is required for travel in the performance of the essential functions of this position. Proof of a valid Virginia driver’s license, an acceptable DMV record, and liability insurance is required.
