Salary (Monthly)
6,667.00 – 9,334.00, commensurate with qualifications. Newly hired attorneys receive a 6% legislatively authorized salary increase upon hire.

Responsibilities
- Advise Commissioners on complex legal, regulatory, and infrastructure‑related matters affecting telecommunications, electric, and water and wastewater utilities.
- Conduct legal research, analysis, and decision‑making support for high‑impact utility regulation and infrastructure issues.
- Draft and prepare written materials to support Commission decisions.
- Research, draft, and prepare written materials for contested cases, including engineering analyses and mitigation plans.
- Collaborate with Commission Advising, Docket Management, and Administrative & Project Services sections.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting or engineering from an accredited college or university.
- LLB or JD degree from an accredited law school.
- Licensed with the State Bar of Texas and eligible to practice law in Texas.
- Minimum of two (2) years of full‑time legal work experience as a licensed attorney; for Attorney III – three (3) years, preferably in utility regulation or administrative law.
- Experience with electric, telecommunications, or water and wastewater utility regulation, administrative law, or infrastructure‑related regulatory matters (preferred).
- Experience reviewing or analyzing utility infrastructure applications, engineering analyses, mitigation plans, or compliance filings (preferred).
- Valid driving record; able to travel for agency business.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with electric, telecommunications, or water and wastewater utility regulation, administrative law, or infrastructure‑related regulatory matters.
- Experience reviewing or analyzing utility infrastructure applications, engineering analyses, mitigation plans, or compliance filings.
