A leading immigration law firm located in New York City is seeking an immigration attorney licensed in any U.S. state. The preferred candidate will possess experience in immigration law or complex general practice litigation. Responsibilities will include representing clients in immigration cases before the Court and the USCIS. Attorneys licensed in any jurisdiction are permitted to appear before immigration courts. The ideal applicant should demonstrate outstanding research, reading, and writing abilities. Training will be available if necessary. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in handling Removal Defense cases.
Responsibilities
Represent clients in litigation proceedings, including trials and hearings.
Conduct thorough legal research using tools such as Lexis-Nexis to support case strategies.
Draft and file legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs.
Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients to achieve favorable outcomes.
Collaborate with legal administrative staff to ensure efficient case management.
Prepare for court appearances by organizing evidence and witness testimonies.
Maintain accurate records of case progress and client communications.
Experience
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
Admission to the bar in the relevant jurisdiction.
Proven experience in litigation, with a focus on patent law preferred.
Strong understanding of tribal law regulations is a plus.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective advocacy.
Proficiency in legal research methodologies and tools such as Lexis-Nexis.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a law office environment.
