Role Description The Legal Operations Manager will oversee legal processes related to asset recovery, repossession, and auctions, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and internal policies. This is a full-time, on-site role based in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, working closely with operations, finance, and vendor management teams. Day-to-day responsibilities include reviewing and drafting legal documentation, coordinating with external counsel and vendors, maintaining accurate records, and supporting dispute resolution and contract enforcement. The role also involves developing and refining legal workflows, implementing risk mitigation measures, and providing legal guidance to internal stakeholders on operational decisions. The Legal Operations Manager will monitor regulatory changes, contribute to policy updates, and help optimize the balance between legal compliance and business efficiency.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of commercial, recovery, repossession, and auction-related laws and regulations, with the ability to interpret and apply them to business operations.
- Experience in managing legal documentation, including contracts, notices, agreements, and compliance records, preferably in financial services, asset recovery, or marketplace platforms.
- Proficiency in legal research, case analysis, and drafting clear and concise legal communications and policies.
- Skills in process management and workflow optimization, including organizing legal operations, establishing standard operating procedures, and maintaining structured documentation systems.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, coordinate with external legal counsel and vendors, and handle negotiations and dispute resolution in a professional manner.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities, with attention to detail and a focus on risk management and compliance.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to present legal and operational issues in an accessible manner to non-legal stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) or equivalent; advanced legal qualifications or certifications in corporate or financial law are an advantage.
- Prior experience in legal operations, corporate legal roles, or compliance functions is strongly preferred, especially within the Mumbai Metropolitan Region or similar markets.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and accountability, with readiness to work on-site in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
