Epiq Counsel is supporting a leading enterprise financial services organization on a high-priority, near-term engagement focused on transforming its litigation and legal operations function.

This is a highly selective search for a consultant who brings a rare blend of deep litigation experience, legal operations expertise, and execution-driven transformation capability. You’ll work directly with senior leadership to modernize processes, elevate KPI and reporting frameworks, and drive adoption of technology-enabled workflows.

What You’ll Do

  • Evaluate and optimize litigation processes, capacity models, and workload allocation.
  • Build and operationalize KPIs and data-driven reporting frameworks.
  • Drive adoption of legal technology (e.g., matter management, e-billing platforms).
  • Lead multiple concurrent initiatives across process, reporting, and systems.
  • Partner with executives to align operations with business goals and demand.

Required Experience & Qualifications

  • 5+ years of litigation experience (law firm and/or in-house), with strong credibility among senior legal stakeholders.
  • 5+ years of experience working within or alongside Legal Operations function.
  • Proven ability to assess and improve processes, KPIs, and operational frameworks.
  • Experience with capacity modeling, workload allocation, and organizational design
  • Strong exposure to legal technology ecosystems (e.g., matter management, e-billing, reporting tools).
  • Ability to translate business outcomes into structured requirements for technology solutions.
  • Experience leading or supporting complex multi-workstream initiatives.
  • Epiq Counsel partners with industry-leading clients in support of their sophisticated interim talent needs. Must be interested in practicing in an alternative, fixed-term legal services model.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Litigation experience within insurance, financial services, or complex commercial litigation (e.g., class actions, bad faith matters).
  • Experience implementing or optimizing platforms such as Onit, NetDocuments, or similar systems.
  • Background in legal ops consulting or transformation initiatives.
  • Experience working in environments transitioning from legacy/manual processes to data-driven systems.
