LEGAL OFFICER
The Insurance Company of the West Indies (Trinidad) Limited invites applications from suitably qualified individuals to fill the position of Legal Officer at our Port-of-Spain branch.
The ideal candidate will be a practising Attorney-at-Law with a minimum of Three (3) years’ experience with:
Strong advocacy/litigation skills
Litigation experience in the Magistrate and High CourtÂ
Sound working knowledge of the Court procedures, Civil Procedure Rules, Case Management Conference, Pretrial Review and Trial Preparation
Strong organizational and time management skills
Excellent negotiation, mediation, interpersonal and communication skills.
Sound knowledge of the laws of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago including laws relevant to the insurance industry
Knowledge of economic and social trends pertinent to insurance claims.
Computer skills (that is, competence in the use of word processing and spreadsheet software programmes)
Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Highly motivated and able to work with minimum supervision
Good analytical, problem solving and information gathering skills
