Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Legal Nurse Consultant (LNC) to join our team remotely. Key Responsibilities:

  • Expert Witness Coordination: Assist in identifying, locating, and evaluating qualified medical experts. Prepare experts for depositions and trial testimony by providing them with organized records and case summaries.
  • Litigation Support: Collaborate with attorneys on case strategy, prepare for depositions by developing questions for medical witnesses, and provide critical analysis of opposing experts' opinions and backgrounds.
  • Medical Research: Conduct research on medical conditions, treatment protocols, and standards of care related to case issues to support case arguments.
  • Clear Communication: Translate complex medical terminology into clear, accessible language for attorneys and clients, ensuring everyone understands the medical facts of the case. You will also need to communicate effectively with internal teams regarding case reviews.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree is highly preferred. An Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) with substantial clinical experience may be considered.
  • Licensure: Active, non-restricted Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
  • Experience:
  • A minimum of 1 years of acute care nursing experience is required; experience in orthopedics, trauma, ICU, neurosurgery, or emergency departments is strongly preferred.
  • At least 1 years of experience as a Legal Nurse Consultant or RN Paralegal is required.
  • Certification: Legal Nurse Consultant Certification (CLNC or LNCC) is strongly preferred.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Analytical Skills: Exceptional ability to synthesize complex medical information and identify key details, red flags, and potential issues.
  • Communication: Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, concise, and informative reports.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel), Adobe Acrobat, and ability to navigate electronic medical record systems.
  • Organization: Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines.
  • Independence: Self-directed and able to work independently in a remote environment while also being a collaborative team player.
  • Problem-Solving: Capable of identifying and resolving problems in a timely manner and gathering and analyzing information skillfully.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Health Insurance: Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage.
  • Retirement: 401(k) plan with firm matching contributions.
  • Paid Time Off: Generous paid time off policy, including vacation, sick leave, and observed holidays.
