Job Purpose
Reporting to the Head of Legal, this role will be critical in providing legal advice, guidance, and support to our organization on various real estate matters. You will work closely with internal stakeholders, external partners, and legal professionals to ensure legal compliance and mitigate risks in our real estate operations.
Key Accountabilities:
Legal Advisory: Provide expert legal advice on a variety of legal matters related to real estate development, including construction contracts, joint ventures, land acquisition, zoning regulations, and regulatory compliance.
Contract Management: Review, draft, and negotiate contracts and agreements with vendors, contractors, consultants, and other stakeholders, ensuring all agreements align with company interests and legal requirements.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and policies governing real estate development in Dubai and the UAE, including real estate laws, property rights, building regulations, and environmental requirements.
Dispute Resolution: Manage legal disputes, including litigation and arbitration, working closely with external legal counsel as needed. Provide strategic guidance on dispute resolution and risk mitigation.
Corporate Governance: Advise senior management on corporate governance matters, ensuring compliance with local corporate laws and regulations.
Risk Management: Identify and assess potential legal risks across the development lifecycle and provide recommendations for mitigating those risks.
Legal Documentation: Oversee the preparation, review, and execution of legal documents related to land acquisition, project financing, development agreements, and property transactions.
Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including project managers, finance, construction, and sales teams, to ensure smooth legal operations throughout all stages of the development process.
Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, legislative changes, and market dynamics to ensure that the company’s legal practices remain ahead of the curve.
Qualifications, Experiences, Core Competencies:
LLB or equivalent law degree from a recognized institution. A Master’s in Law (LLM) or other relevant qualifications would be an advantage.
Minimum 7-10 years of experience in real estate law, ideally within the UAE or GCC region, with a focus on real estate development, construction law, and contract law.
Strong understanding of the UAE’s legal framework, particularly in real estate, property law and regulatory compliance.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and drafting skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Must be fluent in Arabic.
