1. Job Purpose
Oversee all legal operations of the company in the e-commerce sector, ensuring full
compliance with laws and regulations, minimizing legal risks, developing compliance
strategies, and supporting the Board of Management in strategic decision-making.
2. Key Responsibilities
• Legal Strategy & Management:
o Develop, implement, and monitor legal strategies for all e-commerce
business operations.
o Manage, assign, and train the in-house legal team.
• Advisory to Management:
o Provide legal opinions on strategic decisions, business operations,
investment projects, M&A, and strategic partnerships.
o Advise on complex and specialized e-commerce legal matters such as
personal data protection, cross-border trade, e-payments, and online
advertising.
• Contracts & Transactions:
o Oversee the drafting, reviewing, and negotiation of key commercial
contracts and international agreements.
o Develop standardized contract templates and contract management
processes.
• Risk Management & Compliance:
o Monitor, analyze, and update legal regulations affecting e-commerce (trade,
taxation, logistics, consumer protection, cybersecurity, etc.).
o Build internal control systems to ensure compliance with laws and
company policies.
• Dispute Resolution:
o Directly handle or oversee complaints and disputes with customers,
partners, and regulatory authorities.
o Liaise with external law firms and legal advisors when necessary.
• Training & Compliance Culture:
o Organize legal training sessions for employees, especially in sales,
marketing, and operations teams.
o Foster a culture of compliance across the company.
3. Job Requirements
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Law; a Master’s degree or Lawyer’s Practicing
Certificate is preferred.
• Experience:
o At least 6–8 years of legal experience, including a minimum of 3 years in a
managerial role.
o Preferably with experience in e-commerce, technology, retail, or at
international law firms.
• Knowledge & Skills:
o Strong understanding of laws related to e-commerce, contracts, data
protection, international trade, e-payments, advertising, and logistics.
o Proven leadership and team management skills.
o Strong ability to analyze and assess legal risks and develop strategic
solutions.
o Excellent negotiation, communication, and government relations skills.
o Fluent in English, especially in contract drafting and international
transactions.
