We seek a highly experienced and dynamic Head of Legal to join our team and provide strategic legal guidance to support our business operations.
Job Overview:
The Head of Legal will be responsible for overseeing all legal matters related to the company’s operations, with a particular focus on the coal industry. This role requires a seasoned legal professional with extensive experience in corporate law, litigation, compliance, and contract management, as well as a deep understanding of the coal sectors. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of working in a similar role within a coal-related company.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide strategic legal advice and support to the Board of Directors and senior management on all legal matters.
Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards, particularly in the coal and energy sectors.
Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of legal documents, including contracts, agreements, and corporate policies.
Manage and mitigate legal risks associated with the company’s operations and investments.
Oversee corporate governance and ensure adherence to best practices.
Represent the company in legal proceedings, negotiations, and disputes.
Collaborate with external legal counsel and regulatory bodies as needed.
Stay updated on legal and regulatory developments affecting the coal and energy industries.
Lead and mentor the legal team to ensure high performance and professional development.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) from a reputable university; a Master’s degree (LLM) or additional legal qualifications is a plus.
Minimum of 10 years of legal experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
Proven experience working in the coal industry sector is mandatory.
Strong knowledge of corporate law, contract law, and regulatory compliance.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Fluency in English and Bahasa Indonesia, both written and spoken.
High integrity, strong analytical skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
