Group Compliance Manager – Europe

Competitive Benefits The Opportunity An international organisation with operations across multiple European jurisdictions is seeking a Group Compliance Manager to join its established Legal & Compliance function. This is a broad and commercially focused role offering exposure to a wide range of regulatory and governance matters, including anti-bribery and corruption, sanctions, data privacy, competition law, third-party risk management and compliance support on mergers, acquisitions and joint ventures.
Working closely with senior leadership, legal teams and operational stakeholders across Europe, you will play a key role in maintaining and enhancing a robust compliance framework within a complex multinational environment.
Key Responsibilities Manage and support legal compliance due diligence activities relating to acquisitions, joint ventures and third-party relationships. Conduct compliance and regulatory risk assessments across European operations, identifying gaps and recommending appropriate controls and mitigation strategies. Support the ongoing development and maintenance of the organisation’s data privacy programme, including GDPR compliance, DPIAs, ROPA management and information governance processes. Draft, review and update compliance policies, procedures and governance documentation in line with changing regulatory requirements.
Provide guidance to stakeholders on matters including: UK Bribery Act and anti-corruption legislation GDPR and wider data protection obligations Competition and antitrust law Economic sanctions and trade compliance Third-party due diligence and risk management Assist with the design and delivery of compliance training and awareness initiatives across Europe. Produce compliance reporting and management information for leadership teams. Develop practical compliance resources, guidance notes and educational materials.
Partner with legal, risk and compliance colleagues globally to ensure consistency of programmes and controls across jurisdictions. To be successful, you will bring:
At least 5 years’ experience within Compliance, Legal & Compliance, Regulatory Affairs or Corporate Governance. Strong knowledge of GDPR, anti-bribery and corruption regulations, competition law, sanctions and third-party compliance frameworks. Experience supporting multinational or cross-border operations. Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills. The ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels of an organisation. Strong policy drafting, governance and regulatory interpretation capabilities.
A degree in Law, Business, Governance or a related discipline. Additional European language skills would be advantageous. Suitable Backgrounds:
