Essential Duties & Responsibilities Your main responsibilities will cover a variety of legal issues concerning our renewable energy activities in India.
Amongst others, the following responsibilities apply to this position:
Providing legal advice and support on a wide range of legal activities and secure compliance of business operations with relevant laws and regulations.
You will be responsible for counselling the business operations by giving pro-active, professional, competent, (cost) effective and creative legal support. Anticipate and manage the (legal) risks connected with or resulting from the business strategy and operations.
Advising on Indian renewable energy/power generation regulatory framework with a proper understanding of the main terms and conditions of PPA, Joint Bidding Agreements (JBAs), Loan Agreements, Construction and Supply Agreements, EPC Agreements and other typical contracts internationally used by the renewable energy industry.
You’ll need to bring negotiation and drafting skills and business sense to deal with multiple functional teams in a rapidly scaling business.
Drafting and negotiating simple and complex contracts including but not limited to those related to renewable energy power generation projects. E.g. Drafting and finalizing various contracts like Term Sheet, Power Delivery Agreements, Share Purchase Agreement, Share Holding Agreements etc.
Advising on general business law issues and managing the legal issues of all areas of the company, including but not limited to corporate matters, procurement, safety, security, insurance and sustainability issues.
Represent the department as required in liaison with the Group Legal department.
To pro-actively create and maintain awareness of business employees for (compliance with) relevant laws and regulations.
Ability to deliver high-quality work under deadlines.
Required qualifications:
8+ years of experience as corporate legal advisor. Experience of working with firms in power, solar & renewable sector will be an added advantage.
Proven experience as a general counsel or in a comparable legal role
Comprehensive knowledge of the law, such as corporate, labor, and appellate law
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
Advanced law degree
