POSITION SUMMARY

This role offers an exceptional opportunity for an experienced legal professional to lead and manage a broad portfolio of legal responsibilities, including commercial, operational, and compliance matters, within the dynamic and highly regulated U.S. market.

Functioning as a trusted legal advisor to the U.S. leadership team and a key member of ANTA Group’s global legal team, the successful candidate will play a critical role in supporting ANTA’s ambitious growth in the competitive U.S. sportswear and retail market.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

In this role you are expected to:

Act as the primary legal advisor for U.S. operations, providing timely, commercially pragmatic guidance on key legal matters, including store development, retail operations, consumer related compliance and employment-related matters.

Collaborate with the China Head Office legal team to adapt and implement group compliance policies and processes for the U.S. market.

Draft, review, negotiate, and standardize a range of contracts, including commercial leases, store operation related contracts, agreement with B2B accounts, e-commerce, marketing, employment, and intra-group agreements.

Oversee compliance with U.S. data privacy regulations, such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and other emerging state and federal privacy laws, while implementing group-wide data protection policies.

Monitor changes in U.S. laws and regulations and provide proactive legal advice to mitigate risks and ensure compliance

Support supply chain operations by addressing legal issues related to import/export compliance, customs regulations, and logistics.

Ensure corporate governance compliance, including maintenance of statutory records and submissions for U.S. entities.

Develop and deliver training programs tailored to U.S. legal and compliance requirements, focusing on data privacy, contract management, and retail operational best practices.

Manage relationships with external counsel, ensuring cost-effective and high-quality external legal support for specialized matters.

Provide ad hoc legal support to the U.S. leadership team and contribute to cross-functional projects as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS (CREDENTIALS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES)

Bachelor’s or Juris Doctor degree in law from a reputable law school, active bar membership in good standing, preferably in California or New York.

5 plus years’ experience in reputable law firms and/or in-house environment, expertise in retail, apparel, or sports products industries is strongly preferred, and experience with supply chain operations, import/export compliance, or international trade law is a significant advantage.

Familiarity with US legal issues impacting retail, real property leasing, data privacy, brand marketing, commercial contracts, franchise operation, employment and international contracts.

Demonstrated ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with global teams. Familiarity with global operations, especially interactions with Chinese entities, is a strong advantage.

Adaptability to a fast-paced, multicultural environment with competing priorities.

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English. Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills. Mandarin Chinese proficiency is a plus but not mandatory.

Willingness to travel domestically and occasionally internationally as required
