Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Associate Attorney to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of various areas of law, including but not limited to criminal law, family law/ divorce/ custody and contracts. This role requires excellent legal drafting skills and the ability to conduct thorough research using tools such as Westlaw and Lexis-Nexis. The Associate Attorney will work closely with clients, providing legal advice and representation while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Responsibilities
Conduct legal research and analysis on various issues pertaining to criminal law, family law/ divorce/ custody and contracts.
Draft legal documents including contracts, pleadings, motions, and briefs with precision and attention to detail.
Assist in the preparation of cases for trial by gathering evidence, interviewing witnesses, and preparing exhibits.
Provide clients with sound legal advice based on thorough research and understanding of relevant laws.
Collaborate with senior attorneys on complex cases to develop strategies for effective representation.
Maintain accurate records of all client interactions and case progress.
Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations that may impact clients or the firm’s practice areas.
Qualifications
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
Admission to the bar in the relevant jurisdiction.
Strong knowledge of legal drafting techniques and procedures.
Familiarity with criminal law, family law/ divorce/ contracts.
Experience or coursework in criminal law, family law/ custody/ divorce and contracts.
Proficient in legal research tools such as Westlaw and Lexis-Nexis.
Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while managing multiple priorities effectively.
Must be self-disciplined.
