Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Contract Attorney to join our legal team to serve as a co-counsel for a Med-Mal Case. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in Personal Injury cases, specifically Medical Malpractice and wrongful death a plus. This role requires excellent legal drafting skills, the ability to negotiate effectively, and a commitment to providing high-quality legal services to our clients.
Responsibilities
Partner with Primary Counsel on trial preparation which includes legal research, witness prep, depositions, document review and drafting.
Conduct legal research using tools such as Lexis-Nexis and Westlaw to support case preparation.
Draft and review legal documents, including contracts, pleadings, and motions.
Represent clients in negotiations and litigation related to personal injury claims and workers’ compensation cases.
Manage case files efficiently, ensuring all documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
Collaborate with other attorneys and staff to develop case strategies and achieve favorable outcomes for clients.
Stay informed about changes in laws and regulations that may affect client cases.
Requirements
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
Admission to the bar in the relevant jurisdiction.
Proven experience in personal injury law, Medical Malpractice a Plus
Strong legal drafting skills with attention to detail.
Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to advocate effectively for clients.
Familiarity with legal research tools such as Lexis-Nexis and Westlaw.
Ability to multi-task while meeting deadlines.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
While this position will start off as project based, it can evolve to more cases and assignments based on performance and availability.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $80.00 – $100.00 per hour
Expected hours: 10 – 20 per week
