Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Legal & Human Resources Assistant to join our dynamic team. This role is essential in supporting our in-house attorney, along with various HR functions and ensuring the smooth operation of our legal and human resources departments. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of basic legal practices, human resources practices and be familiar with various HR software systems. This position offers an excellent opportunity for growth and development within the field of law and human resources.

Responsibilities

Assist our in-house attorney with Attorney General responses, legal compliance issues, and privacy and security compliance.

Assist in the recruitment process, including posting job openings, screening resumes, and coordinating interviews.

Maintain employee records and ensure compliance with company policies and legal requirements.

Administer employee benefits programs and assist with workers’ compensation and disability claims as needed.

Utilize ATS (Applicant Tracking System) tools, such as Hireology, to manage candidate pipelines effectively.

Participate in change management initiatives to enhance employee engagement and retention strategies.

Conduct HR sourcing activities to identify potential candidates for open positions.

Support various HR projects and initiatives as assigned by senior HR staff.

Experience

Previous experience in human resources or a related field is preferred but not required.

Previous experience in a law firm or other legal capacity is required.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact effectively with employees at all levels.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with HR software is advantageous.

A proactive approach to problem-solving and a willingness to learn new skills within the legal and HR domains.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 – $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
