The Role
We are looking for a meticulous and organised Legal & Governance Associate to oversee legal documentation, coordinate regulatory responses, and strengthen governance processes across the organisation.
This is not a practicing legal counsel role. Instead, you will work closely with business teams, external legal counsel and government agencies to ensure the company remains organised, responsive and compliant.
Key Responsibilities
Corporate Governance & Regulatory Matters
- Coordinate responses to regulatory notices and government agencies, including matters relating to online safety, content regulation and other statutory requirements.
- Gather information from internal stakeholders and prepare submissions for review by management or external legal counsel.
- Maintain records of regulatory correspondence and compliance obligations.
Legal Administration
- Coordinate with external law firms on commercial, employment and corporate legal matters.
- Prepare first drafts of standard legal documents, correspondence and administrative filings using approved templates.
- Maintain legal trackers, litigation records and legal spend reports.
- Support contract administration and document execution processes.
Risk & Compliance
- Maintain compliance calendars for licenses, registrations and regulatory obligations.
- Monitor changes to relevant legislation and regulations, highlighting potential implications for the business.
- Support internal investigations and fact-finding exercises where required.
Who We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone who enjoys bringing structure to complexity and can work confidently across multiple stakeholders. You should have:
- A degree or diploma in Law, Legal Studies, Business, Corporate Governance or a related discipline.
- Approximately 2–3 years’ experience in a legal operations, paralegal, corporate governance, compliance role.
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent written communication and document drafting abilities.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Good judgement when handling confidential and sensitive information.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and document management systems.
