Job Purpose

The Legal Enforcement Specialist is responsible for supporting in implementing a higher level of compliance in the insurance sector, taking enforcement actions against violators, determining appropriate disciplinary actions and sanctions, and contributing to the development of enforcement policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities and Activities

Operations Management:

Implementation of Department’s policies, regulations, procedures, and controls so that all relevant procedural/ legislative requirements are met while delivering high-quality and cost-effective results.

Enforcement:

Take enforcement action to detect, disrupt, and respond to unlawful conduct within the insurance sector.

Support in conducting Investigation of suspect cases of violations received from reporting parties.

Assist in studying suspect cases of violations in the insurance sector received from reporting parties.

Carrying out questioning procedures to gather information from violators.

Support in the collaboration with experts and specialists on suspect cases of violations.

Suggest recommendations regarding legal actions and proposed penalties/ corrective actions to be imposed on violator. Ensure that enforcement actions are consistent, proportional, and effective in deterring non-compliance.

Coordinate with the Legal Department to prepare for and pursue legal actions against non-compliant entities.

Stay updated on legal developments, industry trends, and best practices in the insurance sector, and provide recommendations for necessary changes or improvements to IA’s legal framework

Recommend enhancements to regulatory frameworks based on enforcement experiences and sector needs.

Perform any other related job duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements

Knowledge and Experience:

0-3 years of relevant experience in insurance management, legal and compliance.

Experience in insurance management practices.

Experience in system being used.

Education and Certifications:

Bachelor’s degree in law or a related field.

Relevant Insurance certification is preferred
