Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Legal Assistant to join our dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of legal processes and regulations, particularly in areas such as tribal law, workers’ compensation, and environmental law. This role requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. The Legal Assistant will support attorneys by performing various administrative duties, conducting document reviews, and assisting in legal case management.

Responsibilities

Assist attorneys with the preparation and drafting of legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and correspondence.
Conduct thorough document reviews to ensure accuracy and compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
Maintain organized case files and documentation for easy retrieval and reference.
Manage calendars, schedule appointments, and coordinate meetings for attorneys.
Communicate effectively with clients via phone and email while maintaining professional phone etiquette.
Support the team in researching tribal law regulations and environmental law matters as needed.
Assist in the management of workers’ compensation cases by tracking deadlines and filing necessary paperwork.
Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient workflow within the office.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Legal Assistant or in a similar administrative role within a legal environment is preferred.
Familiarity with tribal law regulations, workers’ compensation law, environmental law, or related fields is a plus.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; proficiency in legal drafting is highly desirable.
Demonstrated ability to manage legal case files efficiently using case management software or similar tools.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other relevant software applications.
A paralegal certificate or relevant coursework in legal studies is an advantage but not mandatory.

Pay: $38,000.00 – $40,000.00 per year
