Position Overview
We are looking for a commercially minded Legal Director / Associate Director to provide strategic legal support to the China business. This role requires a business-oriented legal professional who can independently partner with commercial teams, support business growth, manage legal risks, and advise on strategic initiatives across both online and offline sales channels.
This is an individual contributor role without people management responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide practical legal advice to business leaders and cross-functional teams.
- Draft, review and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements.
- Partner closely with Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain and other business functions to support commercial initiatives.
- Advise on legal risks relating to online and offline sales models.
- Support new business initiatives, including establishment of new legal entities and expansion projects.
- Lead legal support for strategic projects, corporate transactions and business transformation initiatives.
- Manage external counsel and coordinate litigation or regulatory matters where necessary.
- Develop internal legal policies and compliance practices while balancing commercial objectives.
Requirements
- Qualified lawyer with solid in-house legal experience.
- Typically 10 years+ of experience, currently at Associate Director or Director level.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to influence business decisions.
- Experience supporting both online (e-commerce/digital) and offline sales businesses.
- Hands-on experience in company incorporation, corporate restructuring or new business setup.
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Fluent in both Mandarin and English.

- Multinational company experience.
- Healthcare, medical device, consumer, retail, FMCG or similar industries.
- Experience supporting rapidly growing businesses with multiple business models.
