We are looking for a Legal Counsel to join our rapidly growing team in Washington, DC or Atlanta, GA to lead legal support for Anduril’s Tactical Recon and Strike (TRS) Division, with a focus on the full spectrum of United States government contracts. This includes providing legal oversight to proposals, procurement guidance, advising on data rights and contract structures, giving legal guidance to existing business areas, and crafting legal and business strategies.
This role will partner closely with customers, outside counsel, and business partners across the organization to support business development and legal operations.

The Legal Counsel for Government Contracts will navigate the US Government’s procurement and compliance rules, with a focus on deploying path-making technology into operational settings for the United States and its allies. The role may involve negotiating licenses and services agreements, bid protests and litigation, handling intellectual property, compliance, and employment matters.

Responsibilities
- Be a key member of Anduril’s small, dynamic Legal Team.
- Drive government contract growth by executing new contracts and expanding existing ones. Apply federal procurement law to support Business Development, Proposal, and Engineering Teams in capturing new contracts, growing existing contracts, and setting up follow-on opportunities.
- Manage relationships with procurement office representatives at Government agencies and develop high-trust professional relationships with Government contracting and procurement offices.
- Provide legal counsel and day-to-day management of the acquisitions lifecycle. Oversee major proposals, monitor large contracts, lead or assist in negotiations, resolve performance issues, identify risks and mitigations, and ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and policies.
- Work on all legal aspects of Anduril’s business, including negotiating licenses and services agreements, bid protests and litigation, and handling deal-related intellectual property, compliance, and employment matters. Represent the legal team in relationships with outside counsel, vendors, engineers, executives, customers, and regulators.
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of work on US Government contracts matters, preferably with a law firm or in-house at a government contractor (more senior lawyers are encouraged to apply; the position may be adjusted based on experience)
- Solid understanding of the government procurement process, including contract vehicles and types, non-traditional and CAS coverage, software acquisition approaches, and data rights issues
- Ability to own multiple projects from end-to-end and guide the Business Development Team through the lifecycle of a deal or handle unexpected legal issues in defense or startup environments
- Strong communication, writing, and interpersonal skills
- Quick learner and independent performer, capable of contributing to a broader start-up legal function including topics from IP and litigation to financing, securities, compliance, and employment law
- Licensed to practice law in CA, DC, or GA
- Must be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export controlled information or facilities
Preferred Qualifications
- Combination of law-firm and in-house or government experience
- Experience with engineering, software, or other technology
- Interest in the law and policy of defense acquisitions and opinions on how to improve the field
- Ability and grit to operate independently within a rapidly evolving company
- Experience with FMS and/or DCS procurement and contracting process
- Currently possesses and can maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance
