Introduction: We are partnering with a prominent family office and private investment group to hire an energetic Legal Counsel for their expanding legal team. Reporting directly to the Deputy General Counsel, this role will drive high-profile private investments, cross-border corporate transactions, fund structures, and key commercial dispute management across the APAC region.
Responsibilities:
- Structure, draft, and negotiate shareholders’ agreements, JVs, SPAs, and investment documentation for private asset portfolios.
- Manage cross-border deal execution across Hong Kong, Mainland China, and offshore Cayman entity structures.
- Coordinate external litigation counsel on dispute resolution, arbitration strategies, and regulatory inquiries.
- Deliver commercially focused legal advice to C-suite executives on group risk management and transactional strategies.
- Supervise external law firms, fund administrators, and advisors to ensure cost-effective, high-quality legal deliverables.
- Monitor legislative, regulatory, and fund policy changes across key APAC jurisdictions to protect group interests.
- Provide agile legal support on broader group operations and cross-functional corporate initiatives.
Requirements:
- Qualified Solicitor in Hong Kong; PRC qualification is a distinct advantage.
- 4 to 7 years of post-qualification experience (PQE), with strong law firm or in-house exposure.
- Proven background in corporate M&A, private equity, joint ventures, or fund formation.
- Excellent command of written and spoken English, Cantonese, and Putonghua (including Simplified Chinese drafting).
- Smart, agile, and self-motivated professional capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong business acumen with the communication skills to interface directly with senior stakeholders.
