Our client is looking to appoint a Legal Counsel or Senior Legal Counsel to their in-house team in Sydney.

Position Description
This role will see you working closely with an experienced construction lawyers to interpret and negotiate contracts throughout the lifecycle of projects, including the management of formal and informal disputes.
You will work closely with the various commercial managers and external legal providers to not only ensure the company’s policies and procedures comply with legislative requirements; but also to provide the business with sensible and commercial legal solutions.
The role will mainly be focused on front-end advisory, however, you will manage disputes from time to time.

Requirements
The successful candidate will most likely have between 3 and 10 years’ post admission experience in construction law. Our client is happy to consider lawyers with front or back-end experience as long as you have some front-end experience.
In addition, you will:
have superior written and oral communication skills;
a strong ability to build relationships with key stakeholders;
an ability to solve challenging intellectual and practical problems;
driven to deliver results in a high pressure environment.
