Our Client
A leading European asset manager and one of the top global players is looking for a Funds Legal Counsel to join its Management Company. The role can be based either in the Luxembourg office or in London.
The company provides a comprehensive range of savings and investment solutions for retail, institutional, and corporate clients.
Your Role
- As an investment fund lawyer, you provide legal advice on the setup, structuring, and operations of regulated funds, including UCITS and alternative funds, in collaboration with internal teams and clients. For this role, UCITS experience is preferred.
- You draft and review legal documentation for the setup, restructuring, merger, or liquidation of UCIs, ensuring compliance with Luxembourg and EU regulations.
- You coordinate the preparation and submission of approval requests to Luxembourg and foreign regulatory authorities for fund-related operations.
- You provide legal advice on investment funds, including UCITS and alternative funds, monitor regulatory developments, and assess their impact on targeted markets.
- You negotiate and manage contractual agreements in line with group standards, client-specific requirements, and applicable legal frameworks.
- You support fund governance activities, handle disputes with internal and external stakeholders, enhance internal procedures, and contribute to the regulatory awareness of operational teams.
Your Profile
- You have at least 5/7 years of experience as an investment funds lawyer, either in-house or in a law firm.
- You have strong knowledge of Luxembourg fund regulations, including UCITS, AIFMD, CSSF regulations and practices, and EU directives.
- Experience with UCITS is preferred, while exposure to alternative funds will also be considered.
- You have excellent communication, stakeholder management, and negotiation abilities.
- You are fluent in French and English.
