Legal Counsel – Legal & Compliance Department
The ideal candidate will serve as an independent contributor within the broader Asia legal team, focusing on legal matters for the Macau branch. This role involves drafting agreements, managing compliance issues, and participating in negotiation discussions. To be successful, the candidate should be adept at collaborating with both in-house and external counsels on a range of legal matters.
Key Responsibilities:
Draft, review, and manage legal documents and agreements to safeguard the bank’s interests.
Provide strategic legal advice to ensure adherence to applicable laws and regulations.
Collaborate on projects and new product initiatives to identify and address legal concerns.
Advise stakeholders on both local and international regulatory changes that may impact the bank’s operations.
Develop and evaluate policies and procedures related to legal matters.
Support various business units with legal insights and solutions.
Oversee external legal counsel when necessary.
Perform additional assignments as needed.
Qualifications:
Must be a qualified lawyer with at least 6 years of post-qualification experience (PQE).
Experience in advising financial institutions is highly desirable.
Strong understanding of personal data protection laws.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage stakeholder relationships effectively.
Proven ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Fluency in both English and Chinese is required.
