Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Associate Attorney to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in various areas of law, including but not limited to land use, zoning, permits, and appeals expertise. This role involves advising property owners, conducting legal research, drafting legal documents, and representing clients in administrative and judicial proceedings. With increasing levels of responsibility, the attorney will manage complex cases while contributing to a collaborative and supportive team environment. This position offers an opportunity to work on diverse legal matters while contributing to the success of our clients and the firm.
Duties
Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support case preparation and strategy.
Draft and review legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and contracts.
Negotiate settlements and agreements on behalf of clients.
Provide legal counsel on land use, zoning, and environmental law issues
Stay informed about changes in laws and regulations
Collaborate with senior attorneys on complex cases and assist in trial preparation.
Utilize Lexis-Nexis for case research and legal documentation.
Communicate effectively with clients regarding their cases and provide updates as necessary.
Experience
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
An active member in good standing with the State Bar of California.
Experience in land use law, permits, zoning, and/or appellate advocacy.
Experience with writs, CEQA, and California regulatory compliance preferred.
Knowledge of the San Francisco Rent Board and similar entities in surrounding counties (e.g., Alameda, Santa Clara).
Proficiency in legal drafting and research skills is essential.
Strong negotiation skills with the ability to advocate effectively for clients.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Pay: $152,014.00 – $180,000.00 per year
