Our client is looking to recruit either a Junior Legal Counsel or Legal Counsel, depending on the candidate's level of experience, to join their growing legal team. In this role, you will provide legal support across a broad range of corporate, commercial, regulatory, and compliance matters within the iGaming industry.
Salary: up to 60k (depending on experience)
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, including software license agreements, service agreements, and NDAs.
- Manage corporate transactions, restructurings, and share transfers.
- Prepare corporate governance documentation, including board resolutions and minutes.
- Maintain corporate records and oversee regulatory filings.
- Support gaming license applications and ongoing regulatory obligations.
- Liaise with external legal advisors, regulators, and corporate service providers.
- Conduct KYC/AML due diligence and legal risk assessments.
- Assist with the development and maintenance of internal compliance policies.
- Manage intellectual property matters, including trademark registrations and renewals.
- Advise on data protection and privacy matters.
- Conduct legal research and provide practical legal advice to internal stakeholders.
- Support legal training initiatives and identify legal risks.
Requirements:
- Up to 2 years' experience for the Junior Legal Counsel role, or 3–5 years' relevant experience for the Legal Counsel role.
- Experience in corporate, commercial, regulatory, or compliance law.
- Experience within iGaming or another regulated industry is considered an asset.
- Strong drafting, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Outgoing, personable, and a strong team player, with a collaborative mindset and willingness to contribute to a supportive, close-knit team culture.
- Self-motivated, driven, and eager to learn and develop professionally.
- Fluent in English; fluency in Maltese is considered an asset.
