A leading name within the Energy and Resources sector is looking to appoint a Legal Counsel to be the go-to expert for all matters relating to cybersecurity across Europe. Partnering closely with regional and global legal teams, the key responsibilities will be as follows:
Provide strategic legal advice on cybersecurity issues affecting operations in Europe.
Monitor and interpret relevant laws and regulations; advise on compliance strategies.
Develop and maintain practical legal frameworks, policies, and standard clauses for cybersecurity.
Advise on and support real-time response to cybersecurity incidents and product vulnerabilities.
Collaborate with global and regional legal teams, technical cybersecurity teams, and business units.
Guide negotiation of cybersecurity-related clauses in commercial contracts.
Support internal audits and regulatory reviews related to cybersecurity.
Manage external counsel as required.
Contribute to key legal projects within the global digital legal function.
About You
Qualified lawyer with strong experience in cybersecurity or technology law.
Deep understanding of EU and international cybersecurity regulations and frameworks.
Experience advising on legal responses to cyber incidents is highly desirable.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills across legal and technical audiences.
Ability to manage complex, cross-border legal matters.
Data privacy experience is welcome, but this role is cybersecurity focused.
