Position Overview
We are seeking a commercially oriented in-house lawyer to support the Connectivity Services Business Unit of IDEMIA Secure Transactions (IST).
This role provides day-to-day legal and contractual support to business operations, with a strong focus on commercial contracting, deal execution, and business enablement in a fast-paced, international environment.
The ideal candidate combines solid legal expertise with a pragmatic, solution-driven mindset, and is comfortable working closely with Sales, Product, and operational teams.
- Location: IDEMIA offices in Bucharest (Hybrid)
- Reports to: Head of Legal (Connectivity Services Business Unit)
- Team: Global IST Legal & Compliance (~30 professionals worldwide)
Mission
Support the growth and performance of the Connectivity Services Business Unit by:
- Delivering timely, high-quality legal support on commercial matters
- Enabling efficient contract execution
- Ensuring compliance with applicable laws and internal policies
Key Responsibilities
1. Contract Drafting & Negotiation
- Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements, including:
- Customer agreements, RFPs, SaaS, licensing, NDAs, DPAs, partnerships, amendments
- Support business teams throughout the deal lifecycle
- Balance legal risk with commercial objectives to enable business outcomes
2. Legal Advisory
- Provide clear, pragmatic legal advice to business stakeholders
- Support contract execution, including issue resolution, claims, and negotiations
- Identify risks and propose practical mitigation strategies
3. Governance & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws and internal policies (data privacy, export control, competition law, etc.)
- Support internal approval processes and governance standards
- Work with subject matter experts where required
4. Regulatory Awareness
- Monitor relevant legal and regulatory developments
- Assess potential impact on business activities
- Contribute to implementation of necessary changes
5. Collaboration & Business Partnership
- Act as a trusted partner to Sales, Product, and operational teams
- Support internal training and knowledge sharing on legal and contract-related topics
- Contribute to continuous improvement of legal support and contract practices

Profile description:
Required Profile
Legal & Business Skills
- 3–5 years of experience in commercial contracting (technology, SaaS, or digital services preferred)
- Strong drafting and negotiation skills in English (French or any other language is a plus)
- Ability to manage multiple transactions under tight deadlines
- Solid understanding of risk assessment and commercial trade-offs
- Basic financial and business acumen
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and integrity
