Attractive Date: 12th May 2025 Our client, an International Commodity and Trading company, is looking for a Senior Legal Advisor – Shipping focusing on supporting commodity and shipping transactions especially in UK, handling trade and charter party contracts, and advising on legal matters across oil, gas, and biofuels within a
fast-paced
global environment.
Duties Include:
Advise front-office teams on legal aspects of commodity transactions, including contract structuring and risk mitigation. Draft and negotiate general terms and conditions, shipping documentation, and bespoke trade agreements. Support business continuity by proactively identifying legal risks and proposing pragmatic, business-aligned solutions. Lead engagement with external law firms, ensuring cost-effective and high-quality legal representation. Contribute to the development and roll-out of legal policies, standards, and internal governance frameworks.
Collaborate on cross-functional ESG initiatives, supporting
sustainability
goals through legal insight and compliance. The preferred candidate will ideally have experience in oil/gas, biofuels, or commodities trading and international shipping, with strong expertise in English law. Fluency in English is required;
German language skills are a strong asset. You will possess excellent
communication
