We are seeking an experienced commercial and corporate counsel to enhance our busy in-house legal function as it scales to meet the needs of our rapidly growing business. Responsibilities: Reporting to Volante’s General Counsel, the key areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to:
Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of commercial contracts, particularly technology agreements and SOWs with customers, vendors, and strategic partners.
Providing corporate/company secretarial support.
Contributing to the ongoing development and review of precedent agreements, internal policies, and standardized processes.
Leading the rollout of a Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) platform.
Core Qualifications, Experience, Attributes, and Skills:
Dual qualified in India and the US
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, with a particular focus on technology agreements, SOWs, and US law.
Relevant experience working in software companies servicing the financial sector.
Knowledge of data privacy laws (including Indian regulations such as the Data Protection Bill and IT Act) is highly desirable.
Prior in-house experience is preferred but private practice lawyers with strong commercial and business acumen will also be considered.
Outstanding negotiation and legal drafting skills.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels of the organization and with external clients, collaborating across different geographical locations, cultures, and time zones.
Ability to manage and prioritize a variety of matters, while maintaining attention to detail and responsiveness.
Proactive, motivated, confident, and a team player, with a passion for providing high-quality legal services.
