Location: Johor Bahru, Malaysia
Salary: MYR 10,000 – 15,000 / month
Languages Required: English & Chinese (Bahasa Malaysia is a plus)
Are you an experienced legal professional with a strong grip on Malaysian law and familiarity with Singapore’s commercial landscape? We are looking for a dedicated Legal Counsel to drive cross-border legal compliance, contract management, and dispute resolution across both markets.
Key Responsibilities
Contract & Risk Management: Draft, review, and finalize commercial agreements, EPC/construction documents, guarantees, and cross-border partnership contracts.
Legal Advisory: Provide day-to-day legal support for local operations, investment projects, procurement, and HR/employment law in Malaysia and Singapore.
Dispute Resolution & Litigation: Manage pre-litigation negotiations, compile evidentiary materials, and coordinate with external legal counsels in both jurisdictions.
Compliance & Monitoring: Track updates in Malaysian commercial, labor, and construction laws, as well as Singaporean contract and data privacy regulations.
Internal Governance: Conduct legality reviews on corporate policies, deliver internal compliance training, and safeguard confidential enterprise data.
Who We Are Looking For
Education & Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Law (LL.B.) or equivalent. Advocate & Solicitor qualification in Malaysia is strongly preferred.
Expertise: In-depth knowledge of Malaysian law and practical familiarity with Singapore commercial laws and cross-border transactions.
Languages: Bilingual fluency in English and Mandarin (written and spoken) is essential for contract drafting and cross-border negotiations. Conversational Bahasa Malaysia is an advantage.
Experience: Experience with Chinese enterprise cross-border investments, construction/engineering, manufacturing, or overseas project legal affairs is a big plus.
Soft Skills: Meticulous, strong evidence-gathering mindset, excellent communication skills across regions, and ability to handle complex priorities under pressure.
