We are looking for a dynamic Legal Counsel to join our team and play a key role in providing strategic legal support across our Travel & Lifestyle and Direct Selling businesses.
As part of our in-house Legal team, you will work closely with senior management and business stakeholders to draft and review commercial contracts, provide practical legal advice, ensure regulatory compliance, manage litigation matters, and liaise with government authorities and external counsel. This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially minded legal professional who enjoys partnering with the business and contributing to impactful projects in a fast-paced, multinational environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial and corporate agreements, including supplier, service, tenancy, sales, partnership, and other business contracts.
- Provide practical legal advice and support to business stakeholders while safeguarding the company's legal and commercial interests.
- Prepare and review legal documentation, official correspondence, policies, procedures, and marketing materials.
- Support business expansion initiatives by localising legal documents and ensuring compliance with local regulatory requirements.
- Liaise with government authorities, regulatory bodies, and external stakeholders on legal and business-related matters.
- Manage litigation and dispute matters in collaboration with external legal counsel, including coordinating legal documentation and case progress.
- Conduct legal research and monitor legislative and regulatory developments to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Partner with the Senior Legal Counsel and Head of Legal to drive legal initiatives and support strategic business objectives.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Possess a Bachelor's Degree in Law (LLB) or an equivalent legal qualification.
- Qualified Advocate & Solicitor in Malaysia is preferred.
- Possess minimum 3 years of relevant experience in private practice, in-house legal, or a combination of both.
- Strong knowledge of corporate and commercial law, with experience in drafting and reviewing commercial agreements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills with the ability to provide practical, business-focused legal advice.
- Proactive, commercially minded, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Willing and able to travel in short notice when required for work purposes.
