Job Description:
1. Legal Advisory:
• Deliver timely, accurate, and pragmatic legal advice on licensing, regulatory compliance, counterparty risk, and other critical legal matters.
• Partner closely with cross-functional teams to enable the launch of innovative products and services in a competitive market.
• Stay ahead of regulatory developments (e.g., trade, TMT, IP, data privacy, consumer protection) and proactively advise on their impact on Lazada’s business.
2. Contract Management & Negotiations:
• Negotiate a range of agreements including partnership agreements, joint venture agreements, and high-value procurement agreements.
• Structure contractual framework for new projects and initiatives, including user-facing terms and conditions.
3. Corporate Operations:
• Participate in legal operations projects to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the legal function, such as streamlining and improvement of legal templates, trainings, and tools.
• Provide corporate secretarial support for Lazada Group’s companies in Singapore, China, Hong Kong and other countries.
Job Requirements:
A. Professional Background:
• 4 to 7 years of post-qualification experience (a mix of private practice and in-house is preferred)
• Experience in Corporate, Commercial and TMT is highly desirable
B. Technical Skills:
• Good legal drafting, sound legal analysis and reasoning, mature risk advisory
• Familiarity with regulatory regime and developments in e-commerce, tech, consumer protection and logistics sectors
