We are currently working with a highly regarded specialist financial services organisation that is seeking a Legal Counsel to join its Legal & Compliance team on a 6-month basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for a solicitor with banking & finance experience who is looking to gain hands-on in-house exposure within a fast-paced and commercially focused environment.
The Role
Working closely with the Group General Counsel and Senior Legal Counsel, you will support the business across a broad range of transactional and commercial legal matters, with a particular focus on invoice finance and asset-based lending transactions.
The role offers excellent variety and exposure, including:
• Supporting MBO/MBI and acquisition finance transactions
• Reviewing share purchase agreements and asset purchase agreements
• Advising on security structures and amendments to finance documentation
• Assisting with onboarding new clients and wider transaction management
• Supporting property legal charges and security documentation
• Reviewing commercial contracts, NDAs, and supplier agreements
• Assisting with recoveries, insolvency, and administration-related matters
• Liaising with external legal advisers and insolvency practitioners
• Working closely with stakeholders across the wider business
About You:
• Qualified solicitor with a minimum of 2 years’ PQE
• Background in banking & finance law
• Asset-based lending experience would be advantageous
• Commercially minded with strong attention to detail
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced and collaborative environment
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Proactive, adaptable, and solutions focused
You will be expected to attend the office one day per week.
