Your new role

This is a newly created role in response to the company’s significant expansion in the Australian market. This growth has resulted in an increase in workload, particularly on the client contracting and procurement side.

The initial primary focus of the role will involve drafting, reviewing, and negotiating client-facing commercial contracts, particularly revenue-generating agreements. (Business process outsourcing/SaaS licencing)

You will also assist in the managing of APAC -specific procurement-related matters

Building internal relationships with business stakeholders in Australia

Your role will further expand in time into the areas of employment law, regulatory, privacy, data protection and cybersecurity issues.

You will also have the opportunity to work across geographies, including Singapore and Hong Kong, supporting cross-border APAC legal matters.

What you’ll need to succeed

Admitted to practice as a lawyer in Australia

Ideally between 1-5 years’ PAE

General commercial contractual experience with knowledge of business process outsourcing and/or software SaaS licencing

Ability to build strong and trusted relationships with internal clients (including sales and commercial teams) and external stakeholders

Knowledge of Australian financial services laws and regulations, data protection laws and drafting/negotiating of IT contracts will be highly regarded.

Ability to organise, prioritise and manage a heavy workload and to meet tight deadlines.
