Our client is seeking a Legal Counsel to provide commercial legal support across Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and Poland, as well as employment law guidance for Northern Europe’s HR team. The role requires strong expertise in commercial law, a general understanding of EU competition law, and experience in compliance matters.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide commercial legal advice on contracts, revenue growth initiatives, distributor agreements, and supplier relationships.
Offer employment law counsel in partnership with external advisors, ensuring alignment with business needs.
Monitor regulatory developments and advise on changes affecting business operations.
Support compliance, risk management, and governance frameworks to protect the company’s reputation.
Assist in knowledge management and legal document retention processes.
Work closely with specialist legal teams to ensure regulatory compliance.
Manage external legal budgets effectively and drive cost-saving initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience:
German qualified lawyer with at least 8+ years of experience in commercial law, gained in a leading law firm or in-house role.
Strong background in contract law, regulatory compliance, and corporate governance.
General knowledge of employment law and EU competition law.
Proven ability to manage external legal advisors and control legal spending.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with a commercial mindset.
Experience in retail, FMGC or a regulated industry is preferred
Fluency in German and English.
