On behalf of our client, a multinational industry group with a regional European headquarter located in the Zug area and approx. 4,000 employees worldwide, we are seeking, starting mid-May 2025 (or as otherwise agreed) and for an expected term until mid-January 2026 (as may be extended), a Legal Counsel (50-80%; Contractor):
Responsibilities
Provide legal advice and implement practices to ensure a consistent level of performance concerning legal, employment and corporate matters, with a focus on the group’s retail, distribution network and suppliers
Support the Head of Legal Europe in all legal, organizational, and administrative issues throughout the region Europe
Prepare, review and negotiate commercial, corporate and other agreements like, e.g., supply, distribution, marketing etc. regarding the group’s European business
Legally advise on the structuring, negotiating and documenting of M&A transactions in Europe. Be part of the relevant M&A project teams, work with all internal stakeholders involved, including Legal, Controlling, Tax, HR, IT, Sales, and coordinate and steer outside counsel
Advise senior management and team mates on legal matters at a strategic and tactical level across a broad range of topics
Proactively manage a broad range of legal matters related to corporate, contracts, marketing, commercial, litigation, distribution as a trusted advisor and business partner across all levels of the group’s European operations
Manage special projects
Requirements
Law degree from a European university (MLaw or similar); bar exam would be a plus
Approx. 4 to 6 years relevant European work experience gained in-house at a multinational group or at an international law firm, including experience in corporate law as well as the drafting, negotiating and managing of a wide variety of commercial agreements and advising on ad-hoc issues, including in connection with retailers and distributors
Fluent in both English and German (each at least level C1), knowledge of additional European languages such as Dutch or Spanish would be a plus
Strong team player with organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills as well as good judgment
Detail-oriented, quick learner, and able to set and juggle priorities while handling multiple tasks simultaneously
Independent and proactive way of working, paired with a high level of self-motivation to perform duties with a high level of professionalism
Excellent drafting skills
Capacity to cultivate strong client relationships and successfully influence teammates in a fast-paced, innovative environment
Ability to drive legal strategies for the company and independently initiate new assignments and identify ways to improve processes and operations
Ability to multitask effectively among different projects in a fast-paced environment
Willingness to travel internationally (Europe, USA)
Place of work: Zug area (working from home possible up to 20%)
