Role Description
We’re looking for a commercially minded Legal Counsel to join Paramount Liquor Group and work closely with our General Counsel across a broad and interesting legal portfolio.
This is a hands-on in-house role suited to a lawyer who enjoys being close to the business, solving problems and providing practical, commercially focused advice.
The role
You’ll support the General Counsel across a range of matters, including:
• drafting and negotiating commercial agreements, including supplier, distribution, logistics, warehousing, services and trading agreements
• liquor licensing and regulatory compliance across our wholesale and retail operations
• corporate and governance matters
• privacy and data protection
• employment and workplace matters
• competition and consumer law
• developing templates, precedents, training and legal processes
• supporting the management of external counsel and legal spend.
You’ll work directly with stakeholders across the business and have the opportunity to help shape and further develop Paramount’s in-house legal function.
About you
Ideally, you will have around 3–6 years’ post-admission experience, gained in private practice, in-house or a combination of both, with strong corporate and commercial drafting skills.
Experience in a regulated industry such as alcohol, FMCG, retail or distribution would be highly regarded.</p>
