What you’ll do
- Manage a portfolio of recovery matters from early-stage contact through to formal legal proceedings where needed.
- Assess accounts and decide the right recovery path in line with internal policy and legal requirements.
- Handle customer and stakeholder communication by phone and email, including difficult conversations, negotiation, and escalation.
- Draft, review, and issue legal correspondence, demand letters, and other recovery documentation.
- Coordinate with external legal counsel, debt collection agencies, courts, and internal stakeholders across relevant jurisdictions.
- Support wider credit-related legal work while maintaining strong confidentiality, documentation standards, and case accuracy.
Who we’re looking for
You should be comfortable owning sensitive recoveries work end to end and keeping matters moving without close supervision.
Must-haves:
- You are a qualified Luxembourg lawyer.
- You bring roughly 5-10 years of hands-on legal debt recovery experience.
- You have directly managed Luxembourg-law recovery matters, including enforcement and/or insolvency steps, rather than working only in advisory commercial law.
- You can handle firm, professional communication in English, including difficult customer interactions by phone and in writing.
- You have strong legal drafting, case management, and documentation discipline, with sound judgment on sensitive matters.
Nice-to-haves:
- Experience in lending, credit, recoveries, insolvency, or litigation environments where legal work is closely tied to debt enforcement outcomes.
- Exposure to secured lending.
- Experience managing a live portfolio of recovery cases at pace across multiple stakeholders or jurisdictions.
- A practical, adaptable approach to recovery strategy depending on the facts, jurisdiction, and stage of the matter.

This is a Luxembourg-based business operating in a credit-led environment. The legal work is closely connected to recoveries, customer matters, and wider credit-related issues, with regular coordination across internal teams, external counsel, agencies, and courts.
