Legal Coordinator
Location: Appleton, WI (Harbor House)
Compensation: $46,000 – $53,000 annually, depending on experience
Employment Type: Full-Time, Exempt

About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic Legal Coordinator to oversee and enhance the delivery of legal advocacy services for survivors. This role bridges direct service, team mentorship, and community collaboration. You’ll work hand-in-hand with survivors, team members, and system partners to make legal resources more accessible, effective, and survivor-centered.
What You’ll Do
Direct Legal Advocacy (30%)
Support survivors navigating family, civil, and criminal court systems
Assist with restraining orders, crime victim compensation, and court prep
Provide trauma-informed safety planning, crisis intervention, and emotional support
Offer in-person and follow-up legal advocacy services
Staff Training & Program Development (30%)
Train and mentor staff on legal procedures and trauma-informed practices
Keep legal resources and knowledge current and accessible to the team
Community Partnerships (30%)
Collaborate with law enforcement, court officials, and service providers
Represent Harbor House in community and interagency meetings
Advocate for systemic responses that support survivors

Participate in all-staff and partner meetings
Share in the on-call rotation

What You Bring
Bachelor’s degree in a related field OR 5+ years of experience in a legal/human/social services setting
Deep understanding of the court system and legal documentation
Exceptional communication skills and cultural competency
Experience supporting survivors and navigating complex systems
Bilingual skills are a plus!
