As an Entry-Level Title Attorney, you will assist with conducting title searches, reviewing title commitments, identifying title defects, preparing title curative documents, and supporting the closing process. This role offers the opportunity to build your legal career in the real estate industry and gain hands-on experience with title and closing procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct and certify title searches.
Identify title defects and prepare curative documents under supervision
Work with title companies, underwriters, lenders, and clients to resolve title issues
Draft legal documents such as deeds, affidavits, and closing statements
Support real estate closings and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations
Communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders to provide updates and guidance
Maintain organized records and assist with post-closing matters as needed
Qualifications:
J.D. from an accredited law school
Active license to practice law in North Carolina or ability to obtain one promptly
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
Interest in real estate law and eagerness to learn
Prior experience in title, real estate, or clerking is a plus but not required
