Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Journalism, Law, Legal Studies, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
- At least 2 years of experience editing, proofreading, reviewing, or structuring legal content, including legal publications, case notes, legal articles, and similar materials
- Strong understanding of legal terminology, legal writing standards, citation formats, document structure, and editorial compliance requirements
- Proven ability to ensure accuracy, clarity, consistency, and quality across legal content while identifying and escalating grammatical, factual, formatting, and content issues
- Excellent written English, with advanced writing, editing, proofreading, comprehension, and communication skills
- Experience using legal research and publishing platforms such as Jade, AustLII, Mondaq, LexisNexis, Westlaw, or similar tools is highly preferred
- Ability to interpret legal context and collaborate effectively with legal professionals, subject matter experts, and stakeholders
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital content management or publishing platforms
- Legal education, paralegal, legal research, law firm, legal publishing, or legal services experience is highly preferred
- Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking skills, with a proactive, adaptable approach to managing priorities and supporting additional editorial responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Review expert witness reports to ensure accuracy, coherence, structure, and alignment with lawyer instructions
- Build strong working relationships with experts and guide report writing and refinement
- Strengthen expert reasoning and communication through targeted editorial guidance
- Assist in expert profiling by compiling key details, summaries, and judgment links for database maintenance
- Elevate written communication across teams through editorial support, feedback, and training
- Support team efficiency through essential administrative duties
- Create blogs, case studies, and written content that highlight case diversity and impact
- Contribute to internal and external newsletters aligned with company messaging
- Collaborate with the Marketing team to ensure consistent brand voice across weekly and ad-hoc content
- Conduct legal and value-adding research using platforms such as Jade, AustLII, and Mondaq
- Monitor legal news alerts and recommend timely LinkedIn articles or content ideas
- Draft high-quality articles and posts for publication subject to review and approval
